March 2017 Wrapup!

Sadly, I didn't get anywhere near all the reading I planned to do in March done, but I did watch or catch-up on a few tv shows, which is kind of a relief since I'm behind on just about EVERYTHING! lol... anyway, here are all the books I read and movies/tv I watched in the month of March.

Elemental Secrets

Elle Middaugh
(The Essential Elements, #1)
Publication date: February 27th 2016
Genres: Fantasy, Young Adult

Valerie Moore was a beautiful, headstrong girl with below-average social skills and above-average anxiety (including a flair for over-analyzing).

With her mother long deceased, and her father recently deployed, she ends up being sent to live with her eccentric aunt in a tiny town nestled in the mountains of Pennsylvania. But, being a Navy brat had made her into a bit of a loner, and making friends certainly wasn’t her strongest suit. As if the life of a typical teen wasn’t hard enough.

But Valerie soon discovers she’s not a typical teenager. Not by a long shot.

SECRETS are revealed…

…About her family, about her newfound friends and relationships, and about her whole world… Things that have been kept from her for her entire life…

But the biggest secret of all is revealed when Valerie discovers that she has Elemental powers, and a chain of inexplicable and irrevocable events unleashes throughout the little town…

This ebook was sent to me free in exchange for an honest review...

I'm giving Elemental Secrets a solid FOUR stars. It was a great start to what I hope will be a really good series.

Next, I Reread Blood by Cupcakeriot. This is a Twilight fanfic centered on the concept of reincarnation, a concept I very much enjoy... by an author I very much enjoy. If you're a fanfic reader and you've not read her fic Nova, I don't know what you're doing with your life!

I read GiGi256's Vampire Academy fanfiction. She is writing the whole series in Dimitri's POV and doing a FABULOUS job on it!
I recommend!
So far, she's still on Blood Promise, but don't let that stop you! Her fics are SO good!

The Bronze Key by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare
I finally got around to reading the third book in the series. It was really good, especially the second half, but GOD DAMN that ending!
I will be going on a slow trip to crazy town over the next five months waiting for the next book.... I mean, how am I supposed to wait five MONTHS after this?!?! *sobbing*
I gave this one FOUR stars

Goodbye Peter Pan by bled dry
Another AMAZING twi fanfic that I was sooo behind on!
It was AMAZING! It's a New Moon AU... what if Edward didn't come back into Bella's life until 10 YEARS later?

The Girl in the Meadow by Simaril
Man, this one was really good. It sorta follows twi canon, but not really... cos in it, Bella has known Edward her whole life... only, he doesn't know that. How? Time Travel! :)

Wolfblood season one. Wolfblood is a British-German show set in England about a family of werewolves - "wolfbloods" - who are trying to live in human society. The main character is Maddy, a young wolfblood who has not yet had her first transformation, and her struggles to hide her supernatural nature from her human friends... something that gets even tougher when new student Rhydian moves into their small town. Rhydian is also a wolfblood, a rebellious orphan who isn't all that careful with his abilities nor his temper.

I really liked this first season Wolfblood and I do plan to continue watching! I watched season one through my library's digital video library... but I'm sure you can find it on Amazon digital or other video subscription services if it peaked your interest. I believe it also plays on Disney channel!

I gave season one FOUR stars!

TROLLS!
Yup, I waited til March to watch this movie!
I gave Trolls FOUR stars!

The Legend of Hercules
Not the best Hercules/Ancient gods movie I've seen, but not the worst either... especially if you're a Kellan Lutz fan.
I gave it THREE and a HALF stars.

Just Add Magic season TWO
I gave season two a FOUR and a HALF stars... it had a little bit of an anticlimactic ending and the middle of the season was a bit of a drag at times.

Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark
I'd like to say I'm rewatching these movies, buuut... I've never seen them before. I know, how in the world have I lived nearly 28 years without seeing Indiana Jones?! What can I say, just never got the chance I guess!
I gave it FOUR stars

Orphan Black!
Oooh, I finally had the chance to watch the first season of Orphan Black and OMG... I wish I would have started watching this a LOT sooner cos it's SOOO good! I don't know how Tatiana Maslany pulls off all of these different personalities and accents and body languages in a single show... this woman deserves ALL of the awards!
I give season one FIVE stars cos it was KICKASS!
Samurai Champloo!!
Five years after adding it to my watchlist, I finally got around to watching Samurai Champloo and it was AMAZING! My only complaints are that it had a little too much filler - it could have got to the point a lot quicker than it did - and that it doesn't have a second season... or a movie or two, or three, or four. The anime ends with the trio going their separate ways but I really want to see them reconnect! These three belong together in a really weird way. Plus, what about that police lady that vowed she'd find and marry Mugen? That would be hilarious to see. Also, I was getting
strong Fuu x Mugen vibes there in the final few episodes... but I was more on board with a Fuu x Jin pairing. Though neither happened so I guess it's moot.

For an extra, I've been HOOKED on Lorde's new single, Green Light... it's so good!
